Fiat releases official image of the back of the new Toro pick-up

After more images of the the new pick-up have leaked over internet, Fiat has decided to release an official image of the back of the new Toro. Developed as the project 226, its front has already been revealed in October. The new truck is sized as an intermediate between small and midsize pick-ups. With the latests product presentations, the gap between the segments has grown so much the small trucks would be equivalent to a B segment vehicle, while the midsize would be similar to D segment cars. Toro wants to be the C segment pick-up, along with the pioneer Renault Duster Oroch.

With the picture of the back of the new model, which confirms the tailgate will be divided in two and also some limited technical specs. The Toro, which will also be named RAM Rampage, in the USA, is 4.92 m long and carries 5 people and 1 ton of cargo. If you know that the new pick-up is of unibody construction, very different from the usual body on frame other trucks present, it will be very interesting to follow the engineers presentation.

Fiat also says it will present the comfort and sophistication of a luxury vehicle, a speech that tends to be an introduction of high prices. The pick-up is expected to be revealed in February. Since it shares the same SUSW platform with the Renegade with some changes, it will also share its engines and transmissions. In other words, its smaller engine will be a 102 kW 1.8 E.torQ flex engine, able to run on ethanol or petrol, equipped with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The 125 kW 2.0 MultiJet turbodiesel comes with an exclusive 9-speed automatic transmission. The top trim of the pick-up will  be known as Volcano.
