Alpine A120 interior is revealed before the car presentation

Since December our readers know that Alpine will release its new car in February 16, 2016. Only five days from now. And that it will probably be called A120. What we still did not even have a glimpse of was the interior of the new sports car. But now we do. And it looks fantastic.

The A120 will be powered by a 220 kW 1.8 TCe petrol engine, probably derived from the 1.6 TCe used by the Clio RS. The engine will be placed behind the front seats, which will be the only ones in the two-seater. In other words, it will be mid-rear positioned. The transmission will be the same 7-speed automated dual clutch transmission used by the Renault Talisman and the car will be a rear-wheel drive machine. Weight, as in all Alpine models, will be very low, around 1,100 kg. The former goal was to have a 1,000 kg car, but it would only be possible with the use of carbon fiber, what would make the new Alpine very expensive.

As for the looks, the car will be very similar to the Celebration Concept that was shown at the 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans. The same one you can see in these pictures. Prices are expected to start at 54,000 euros for the base model and to top 70,000 euros. Not cheap, for sure, but we have to see what this little new Alpine is able to do. And that may be a lot!
