Morgan will reveal its first “production intent” electric car, the EV3

Morgan is a name that is truly cherished by the ones that love driving. Its cars used to have a huge waiting list due not only to its charming style, but also to its amazing dynamic characteristics. And Morgan is finally considering a production electric car. The first one should be the EV3, an electric version of the 3 Wheeler that will be presented at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.

The first EV3 prototype was revealed at the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed. It had a 45 kW electric engine and was capable of reaching a 240 km range with a single charge. What makes the next one different it that it is “production intent”, apart from new headlights on the teaser image Morgan has revealed. In other words, it will keep or improve the previous numbers. The 3 Wheeler, the car in which the EV3 is based, is 3.23 m long, 1.72 m wide, 1 m tall and its dry weight is 525 kg. It is equipped with a 2.0 S&S V2 motorcycle engine that generates 61 kW and that leads the 3 Wheeler to a top speed of 185 km/h and to a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of only 6 s.

The other attraction Morgan has for the Swiss auto show is the 4/4 80th Anniversary edition. But we are sure it will not drive as much attention as the EV3.
