These are the new Fiat Tipo bodies: SW (station wagon) and HB (hatchback)

Fiat has finally revealed its new bodies for the modern Fiat Tipo: the Tipo SW (station wagon) and the Tipo HB (hatchback). Our favorite is the station, even if we know that the hatch will outsell it.

The Tipo SW will probably be as big as the sedan, or else,  it will be around 4.50 m long, 1.48 m tall and 1.78 m wide, with a wheelbase of 2.64 m. If the sedan is able to carry 510 l in its trunk, the SW should be able to transport the same amount of luggage. The HB, on the other hand, will be slightly smaller, around 4.20 m long, and should be able to transport 350 l. We still do not have the official numbers, but will bring them to you as soon as they are released.

Both new cars will very likely follow the trims offered by the sedan (Easy, Urban and Lounge), with the entry-level equipped with a 1.4 Fire petrol engine or with a 1.3 MultiJet diesel engine, both able to generate 71 kW. This last one will be offered both in Euro 5 and Euro 6 configurations. The 1.6 MultiJet, on the other hand, will be only available in Euro 6 specifications, both with a 6 speed manual gearbox or with a 6 speed double clutch automated transmission. It produces 89 kW. The biggest petrol engine will be the 1.6 E.torQ, producing 82 kW and solely offered with a 6 speed automatic transmission, but it is not for sale so far. The 1.6 MultiJet is offered for the Urban trim and is the only available engine for the Lounge in Turkey, where the car is called Aegea, the same name of the concept car.
