Donkervoort starts producing the D8 GTO-S

Donkervoort has announced earlier this year it would have new cars for its product range in 2016. The first one, the D8 GTO-S, has just had its production started and it promises to be a sort of Gran Turismo Lotus Seven, the car in which Donkervoort has been inspired. First, as a replica builder, then as a company with its own cars.

The GTO-S (for Sport) is more user-friendly and has new dampers, created to offer more comfort, even if the car is still destined to make its drivers happy behind the wheel. The car is a 2-seater that is 3.74 m long, 1.85 m wide, 1.14 m tall and that has a wheelbase of 2.35 m. Its trunk has a 240 l of luggage space and the car is powered by a 2.5 5-cylinder engine supplied by Audi.

It offers two performance options, Touring or Performance. The first one weighs 730 kg and its engine delivers 254 kw at 5400 rpm and 450 Nm at 2000 rpm. The second one weighs 695 kg and its engine produces 265 kW. Donkervoort has not provided information on torque, but the acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h is around 3 s.
