Hyundai releases the Elantra (Avante) Sport in Korea

Hyundai has released today the first images and information on the Avante Sport, known in most markets as Elantra Sport. The new version of the sedan has a powerful 1.6 T-GDI (turbocharged and with direct injection of fuel) petrol engine that produces 152 kW and 265 Nm and makes the Elantra accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8 s. Besides the engine, that can be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed DCT (dual clutch automated transmission), the new Elantra Sport has a lot of elements that reinforce its performance proposition, such as the dual tail pipes, the red stitching on the steering wheel, the red inserts on the seats, dashboard details that resemble carbon fiber and the sporty 18-inch wheels.

Now in its 6th generation, the Elantra is 4.57 m long, 1.80 m wide, 1.44 m tall and has a wheelbase of 2.70 m. It has already been presented in some overseas markets, such as the USA, but it is still away of others, such as Brazil.
