LEAKED! – Acura will release in China its version of the Honda HR-V, called CDX

All cars from Acura have a Honda sibling and now the luxury brand is about to reveal its version of the Honda HR-V. The new B segment luxury SUV will be called CDX and is about to be presented at the Beijing Motor Show, but the surprise has been blown by our friend of the Indian website Indian Autos Blog, which have revealed leaked images of the new vehicle.

Even if it looks so similar to the HR-V, the CDX has important dimension differences to its Honda counterpart: while the HR-V is 4.29 m long, 1.77 m wide, 1.59 m tall and has a wheelbase of 2.61 m, the CRX will be 4.50 m long, 1.84 m wide, 1.60 m tall and will have a more generous wheelbase of 2.66 m, according to the Chinese website CarNewsChina.

Power will also come from a different source. While the HR-V is powered by a naturally aspirated 1.8 4-cylinder engine that delivers 103 kW at 6,500 rpm and 171 Nm at 5,000 rpm, the CDX will use the same 1.5 turbocharged petrol engine from the Honda Civic, which pumps out 136 kW at 6,000 rpm and 220 Nm from 1,800 rpm up to 5,000 rpm. And the awful CVT that transmits the power to the front wheels would have been ditched in favor of an 8-speed dual clutch automated transmission.

Besides sales in China, the new CDX will surely make it to the USA and other markets in which Acura is present.
