SCOOP! – 7-seat VW Tiguan appears first in China

The 7-seat version of the new Volkswagen Tiguan is expected to be presented in Europe this year, probably at the Paris Motor Show, but we don’t have to wait to see it. At least not after the Chinese website Autohome has published its first images. The one above and the one below.

Where’s the 3rd row?

It is not possible to see the 3rd row of seats, but the new body is denounced by the window in the D column. It is larger and different from the one used by the 5-seater. Compare them.

The images show the D column is further back in the 7-seater, as well as more inclined. Check it again, in a different angle.

Autohome states the new SUV has not only a larger rear overhang, but that it also presents a longer wheelbase. The current Tiguan is 4.49 m long, 1.84 m wide, 1.63 m high and has a wheelbase of 2.68 m. There is no info on how big the 7-seater would be, only that it will probably use the same engines, a 92 kW or 110 kW 1.4 or a 132 kW 2.0 TSI, besides a 2.0 TDI with a power that goes from 85 kW up to 140 kW.
