The Rimac Concept_One is an impressive machine. We have already described it here for our readers, as well as its stronger version, the Concept_S. We have also described its R-AWTV torque vectoring system. What we have not seen so far are the first deliveries of the car. Only 8 units will be produced, but none has been handed to its owners so far. That has been no obstacle to repeated demonstrations of the car’s capabilities. The most recent one happened with the help of the British racing driver Archie Hamilton. He has put the Concept_One against the Tesla Model S P90D, with Ludicrous Mode, and the Ferrari LaFerrari. The results may surprise you.
This may be just acting, since Archie did not get behind the wheel of the Rimac Concept_One not even once. A fair evaluation would have him experiencing how the Concept_One accelerates. That gives us the impression that Rimac controlled every aspect of the test. But, in case it was a test for real, it is very impressive. The electric hypercar seems to be amazingly fast in a straight line. This is pretty much why Rimac has recently disclosed testing at military airport facilities.
According to Juraj Šebalj, the car is very good in corners as well. If you do not know him, he is a 10 times rally champion and has won many hill climb and circuit races in his career. That makes him one of Croatia’s most successful racing drivers. He has tested the car at the Grobnik Racetrack described as a race track with “extremely rough surface, very fast, lots of tricky high-speed corners and sections with hard, tricky braking”. And here is what he has to say about the car.
We still want to read a review from a big magazine or of a known journalist. For a fair review of the car. We just hope it is as good as it seems so far.
