The second generation Dacia Duster has finally appeared as a familiar car. Even if more modern, it will not be mistaken for anything else when it reach the dealerships. Unfortunately, Dacia has not disclosed anything interesting about the car apart that its windscreen has been brought forward in 100 mm, or 10 cm, so that its style looks more dynamic. The car will also have 17″ wheels. And this is pretty much all the official technical specifications we have on it. So far, at least.
What we can say is that the new Duster will be built over the M0 platform, an evolution of the B0 formerly used by the crossover. And that it will probably use the same engines available for Sandero and Logan, which are the 1.5 dCi turbodiesel, ranging from 55 kW to 66 kW, and the 0.9 3-cylinder TCe turbocharged engine with 92 kW. Perhaps even the 1.2 3-cylinder TCe. For the markets in which the Duster will wear a Renault badge, expect it to have the new 1.6 SCe and the 2.0 engine the current Duster already presents. Transmission options will go from the 5-speed or 6-speed manual transmission up to a CVT and an automatic gearbox. In some markets, also the Easy-R automated gearbox.
In what relates do style, the new Duster looks much more interesting than the old one. It has kept some of the creases, but added others, such as two on the hood, that make the car both more aggressive and balanced. Check the images of the crossover below. We’ll get back to you when we have more information on its new technical specifications.
