LEAKED! – New Mégane RS appears on Facebook

The presentation of the fourth generation of the Renault Mégane is just the tip of the iceberg. The Life, Zen, Business, Intens and GT versions are just the start of a bunch of new vehicles, such as the Renault Fluence replacement, the Mégane Sedan, the station wagon version of the C segment family and, most important, the RS version of the new hatchback. Thanks to Ferd, the hot hatch is no longer a surprise, as you can see in these images.

Although they might look as a rendering or a designer’s hypothesis on what the car could look like, we would bet on leaked images, especially because of the picture of the car key (or card). And because it is not a three door version, something that designers would prefer, but that Renault has already dismissed for this generation of the car. The RS will be a five door hatchback and that’s it.

The new Mégane is 4.36 m long, 1.81 m wide, 1.45 m long and has a wheelbase of 2.67 m, with a 340 l luggage compartment. The engine for the RS version is not known yet, but it is expected to surpass 220 kW, against the 202 kW of the hottest version for sale today.

In the pictures, we can see a rear air diffuser, two exhaust pipes, side skirts, a rear spoiler installed in the back door and a sort of a chin in the front bumper. Large fenders flares show the car wheels will be really wide.  Let’s wait for the technical specifications. They will probably arrive at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, if Renault does not decide to hold them, as well as the car, for the 2016 Paris Motor Show.
