Ground control, we have lost Major Tom

MotorChase is an automotive news channel. We are proud to bring you news on cars and all that refers to them. David Bowie was not famous as a car guy. Nor has he produced any car related songs. Whatever. He has produced so many beautiful, incredible songs we could not miss the chance to pay our tribute to him. Even because most of his work must have cheered you up or made you think about life in many situations. Including at the wheel of your favourite car, in an incredible road.

This is Bowie’s last work. We don’t know if you have stopped to listen to it, but we’re sure the lyrics will gain a totally different meaning now. It’s called Lazarus, the one who returns from the dead. Or the one that never even dies.

Blackstar is a farewell masterpiece. And one that has introduced us to the sad conclusion contained in this post’s title: Ground control, we have lost Major Tom. Too soon…

David Bowie was probably one of the most creative and productive artists in history. You will probably spend months listening to everything he has recorded. But this is also what makes us wonder what else he would have been able to create if he had ten more years of life. But we are glad he has made the most of the years he had among us.

Enough for him to not only do great stuff on its own, but also with friends. Under pressure or not.

Brian Eno, his long time partner in amazing songs, will probably listen to this amazing song in his prayers for Bowie. And with clips of one of the most touching movies I have ever seen, “The son’s room”.

I would like to thank David Bowie from the bottom of my heart for the incredible songs he has left us. And this is my recent favourite, the one I can listen in an infinite loop with no problems at all. Thank you, Major Tom. Aim for the stars, as always.
