Renault releases first images of the new Mégane Estate in its GT version

Renault has released today the first 2 official images of the new Mégane Estate. And it has chosen a noble version of it for the premiere, the GT. While we still do not have many technical data on the new car, the mere indication that it will have a GT version already tells us much about it.

The Mégane GT is equipped with a 1.6 Energy TCe 205 petrol engine that generates 151 kW at 6,000 rpm and 280 Nm at 2,400 rpm. It is equipped with a EDC 7-speed dual-clutch automated gearbox. There is also a 1.6 Energy dCi 165 turbodiesel engine that produces 118 kW and 380 Nm, mated to a EDC 6-speed dual-clutch automated transmission, probably bathed in oil in order to resist more torque. Since the Estate will probably preserve the wheelbase of the hatchback version, the Estate is likely to have a 2.67 m wheelbase and 18-inch wheels, with 225/40 R18 tires.

Another major feature of the new station wagon is the 4Control system, which steers the rear wheels in order to offer more body control, as the video below presents.

We will have full details of the new Mégane Estate at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.
