Save the wagons! Here’s the silhouette of the new Renault Mégane Estate

Renault has already promised to make a product blitzkrieg at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Besides the new Scénic, it will also present loads of new other products there. One of the most anticipated ones is the new Renault Mégane Estate, or Break as the French call their station wagons. And it has only presented its silhouette, but it is enough to make us really crave to see it in the flesh. The French magazine L’Argus has even made this rendering in order to spare us the anxiety.

The Mégane Estate will be based on the new CMF-CD modular platform, the same one used by the new Talisman and also the hatchback version. Since the Mégane versions will all present the same wheelbase, we can already say it will be 2.70 m.

Engines will very likely be the same ones used by the new Mégane IV, such as the turbodiesel Energy dCi 90, 110 and 165, for the GT version, and the petrol engines Energy TCe 100, 110 and 205. A hybrid diesel version, promised for 2017 for the hatchback version, should also be offered in the sedan. Manual and double-clutch automated transmissions will be available.
