SCOOP! – CarPix captures the Fiat 500X Abarth in tests!

Starting a partnership with the car photographers from CarPix, specialized in car scoops, MotorChase is proud to bring to you our first secret: the Fiat 500X Abarth. If there was any doubt it would be produced, have them no more! At least this is what the aggressive exhaust note told CarPix photographers, as well as a lot of other characteristics that the amazing pictures they have made testify for themselves.

The 18-inch wheels are said to be almost identical to the ones used by Alfa Romeo 4C, but the expectation is that the Alfa lends the 500X Abarth something else: its 177 kW 1.75 4-cylinder engine! It would be awesome, but we would hold our horses on this one, since the Fiat 124 Abarth is said to get only a stronger 1.4 MultiAir 4-cylinder engine, since Alfa would not be willing to share any of its components.

Apart from that, some other features denounce the stronger Fiat 500X, such as the bigger brake disks, the bigger, red brake calipers and, most of all, the dual exhaust pipes in the back.

Notice that the 500X Abarth also seem to be a lot lower. And it effectively is, as the suspension has been adjusted for a sportier behavior. The front fascia is also different from the one presented by the stock 500X.

Considering how finished the prototype looks, we would bet on a Geneva Motor Show reveal. It may also be presented in North American soil, at the New York Auto Show.
