Instagram is not helping the 2016 Geneva Motor Show keep its secrets. The most recent surprise-breaker came from ExoticsRally, which has revealed the first picture of the new Spyker C8 Preliator (warrior, in Latin).
When we first spoke about the car, it was apparently based on the B6 Venator Concept, also presented at a Geneva Motor Show edition, back in 2013. But we also considered that the image could have just an illustration purpose because of the ailing financial health of Spyker. It would not inspire the creation of an entirely new car. And it has not. The C8 Preliator is a B6 Venator with minor changes. It is possible to see it has 2 openings in its hood, possibly due to a bigger engine. A V8.
The name C8, as we have told before, implies the car has an 8-cylinder engine instead of an electric one, as the first rumors said the C8 Preliator would have. The B6 had a V6 engine. The E12 and the C12 had V12 units and so on. Perhaps because Spyker wants to cheer up its old fans before it tries to appeal to a new audience. Wise move, if you think carefully about it. And a company in financial troubles has to be as wise as possible.
