Škoda reveals its main attraction to the Geneva Motor Show, the VisionS

In the countries where its cars are sold, clients of Škoda have been urging the company to sell them an SUV for ages. It seems the company is finally listening to these requests and will present its future model at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Even if only as a concept for starters. Meet the Škoda VisionS. The future Škoda Kodiaq.

The new SUV is based on the MQB platform, just like the VW Tiguan and the Škoda Superb and Octavia. It is a large SUV, at 4.70 m long, 1.91 m wide and 1.68 m tall. Its wheelbase has not been revealed, but we may bet in a 2.70 m or 2.80 m due to the short overhangs and the similar size of the SUV when compared to the Octavia and the VW Passat B8. VisionS offers 3 rows of seats, for six passengers. This is probably due to the fact that it is a concept and that the second row must handle only two passengers. The Kodiaq will surely be able to carry 3 of them.

Škoda does not detail its technical specifications apart from dimensions. It only spends time explaining the new design of VisionS, which anticipates future vehicles of the brand. It basically presents narrower headlights, square wheel arches, to make it look tougher and more capable to endure off-road trails, but this is not very important. What really matters is that Škoda will enter the SUV market with its usual appeal to a lot of value for money. Many countries will want to have the Czech brand around from now on!
