Aston Martin and Adrian Newey team up to create the AM RB 001

McLaren, Porsche and Ferrari all have their representatives in the hypercar market. Aston Martin has not, but that is about to change. And the change will be groundbreaking. If Gordon Murray has created the McLaren F1, Adrian Newey will create the AM RB 001, codename of Aston Martin’s hypercar project, developed in partnership with the Red Bull Racing F1 team. Newey will collaborate closely with Marek Reichman, Aston Martin’s Chief Creative Officer, to give the car its final appearance.

The promise is to have cutting edge F1 technology in a car that looks as good as all Aston Martin vehicles. It will be achieved by what the companies call an Innovation Partnership, with the advantage of no F1 regulations to constrain the development of the car. For Adrian Newey, it will a dream come true, since he says he had 2 goals in life: to design race cars and a supercar. It was expected that he would design a car for Aston Martin and another to Red Bull, but the car is only one, the AM RB 001. Aston Martin calls the new car, still unnamed, as the “ultimate fusion of art and technology”. We can’t wait to see it ready!
