Aston Martin DB11 already has more than 1,400 orders! And going up…

Cars that cost 154,900 pounds, or US$ 222,800, do not sell in high numbers, but Aston Martin must be pretty satisfied with the success of the new DB11. Just a few days after its first pictures have leaked, the British carmaker already received 500 orders for it. After the official revelation of the car, 900 more have been bought. Do the math with us: we are talking about US$ 312 million in just a few days!

The new Aston Martin DB11 is the first turbocharged car ever produced by the company. Its 5.2 V12 engine produces 447 kW at 6,500 rpm and 700 Nm from 1,500 rpm on allows it to reach a top speed of 322 km/h and to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 s.

The new DB11 is a 2+2 coupé that is 4,74 m long, 1.94 m wide, 1.28 m high and has a wheelbase of 2.81 m. Even with an extruded aluminum body bonded together, and cast-magnesium door structures, its high level of luxury charges its price in the 1,770 kg dry weight, of which 51% is over the front wheels and 49% is over the rear wheels.

Its suspension uses double wishbone setup in the front axle and a multilink arrangement at the rear axle. And it touches the ground with 20-inch alloy wheels, with 255/40 ZR20 Bridgestone S007 tires at the front and 295/35 ZR20  Bridgestone S007 tires at the rear.

This the technical explanation on what has driven so much attention from the ones that can afford buying such a nice piece of engineering. The other can be seen in the pictures of this post. Enjoy!
