Lincoln presents its new Navigator in concept guise

Lincoln is refreshing all its line up adopting a new brand identity inspired by the current Continental. And the next vehicle from the brand that will be sold is the Navigator, which has been presented at the New York Auto Show in concept guise. And with some concept features as well.

It has a single wing door in each side. Tesla Model X, anyone? Not quite, since it grants access to a 6-passenger interior, with large individual seats at the back rows. All of them are Perfect Position Seats from Lincoln, which allow for 30-position electric adjustments. The opening of the doors also deploys what Lincoln calls “concertina steps”. The ones you can see right below. The red carpet is not included, so far.

The new SUV does not use the 3.0 V6 GTDI twin-turbo engine of the Continental, which delivers 298 kW and 542 Nm. Instead, it makes use of a 3.5 V6 that delivers… 298 kW. Why Ford has decided to adopt a different engine for the Navigator is something we will only understand when the SUV is revealed in its production version. Something that should not take longer than 2017 to happen.
