SCOOP! – Citroën anticipates the future C3 with its rally car

We have already posted here some renderings that try to figure out how the third generation Citroën C3 will be. None of them comes close to the real deal, as spy pictures revealed by the Belgian website Autofans have uncovered today. Unfortunately, they do not have any further information apart from the images it has published. The one above and the one below.

Luckily, we have some pieces of the puzzle in order to try to clarify something about the new hatchback. It will be built over a modular platform, the EMP2, and probably use the same engines that equip PSA products nowadays, such as the 1.2 Puretech. Besides that, the car seems to bear much less rounded forms, in a similar way as the DS 3. For what the camouflage allows us to see, the new B segment hatchback adopts the “double floor” headlights that have become Citroën’s new brand identity, even if with some more character than the renderings would make us believe in.

The new C3 was expected to be revealed at the Paris Motor Show, but with this scoop, we would bet on an earlier presentation. The car seems to be fully developed so there would be no reason for holding it back from customers.
