The CMF-A Nissan car will be presented in April 14: a teaser of the Datsun redi-Go

Some of you may remember when we told Nissan would have its own version of the Kwid, an A segment car that is making Renault proud in India with its sales. This new car would be named Datsun redi-Go. Now we have an official presentation date for it: April 14. And we have the teaser above, which has been released at Datsun’s Facebook page and has been cleared, showing the production car will be very similar to the concept car presented at the 2104 Auto Expo in New Delhi, India. Compare below the original teaser image and the concept.

The new Datsun redi-Go and the Renault Kwid are both built over the CMF-A platform. Hence, the redi-Go should have similar dimensions to the Kwid, or around 3.68 m long, 1,58 m wide, 1.48 m tall and has a wheelbase of 2.42 m. The trunk will probably can carry up to 300 l of luggage, like the Renault, and the engine should be the same 0.8 3-cylinder engine that generates 40 kW at 5,678 rpm and 72 Nm at 4,386 rpm. It will propel a car that will weigh around 660 kg.

Considering the Kwid will be sold in South America, we are very sure Nissan will also want a piece of the cake, selling the Datsun as a Nissan in this market.
