Pininfarina presents the DX3 Concept for SEM (South East Motor)

Chinese carmakers are frequently criticized, with good reason, for their lack of a visual identity. Kia had the same problem before hiring Peter Schreyer. But since there are no “Peter Schreyers” available to anyone that needs such a talented designer, a good way to have a brand identity would be to hire a famous studio, such as Pininfarina. And this is what SEM (South East Motor) has done with the world-famous Italian studio. After presenting the DX7 production SUV, SEM and Pininfarina have now presented the DX3 Concept at the Beijing Motor Show.

The DX3 Concept, which seems to be a B segment product, would be considered beautiful in any market it was put for sale. The collaboration between SEM and Pininfarina has started in 2012 and the first product that emerged from this partnership was the DX7, presented at the 2014 Guangzhou Motor Show.

In the next 5 years, SEM and Pininfarina will develop an entire family of SUVs. We are sure a production version of the DX3 Concept will be among them. And that brand identity is something South East Motor will not have to worry about. Theirs is in very good hands.
