Tesla’s share prices are skyrocketing. And there are good reasons for that to happen. The recent presentation of the Model 3 showed huge interest in the entry-level Tesla, or 115,000 reservations in only 24 hours. A week later, reservations have reached 325,000 units, what makes the Model 3 reveal the most successful product presentation in history. This is equivalent to US$ 14 billion in future sales, what makes the car a hit even before it is officially delivered, something expected to happen only by the end of next year. But what if there were different body types to choose from? What it the Model 3 gives birth to an entire car family? This is what X-Tomi Design and Theophilus Chin have helped us imagine.
In Nordic countries, such as Sweden and Norway, station wagons are hugely popular. And a Model 3 station wagon would sell like hot cakes there, in regular or in Cross Country style, such as the ones designed by X-Tomi Design, above and below.
What if you are a single dude, with no plans to marry and expand the family so soon, but you would also like to have a Model 3? A hatchback would fit you nicely. And this is what Theophilus Chin has created in the images below. Do you also see a Golf and Focus killer? If you don’t, think that this car would probably cost less than the US$ 35,000 that will be charged for the regular Model 3. And that its minimum range would be 215 miles (346 km) on a single charge. And that it would accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than 6 seconds, besides being a 5-star vehicle in terms of safety in all tests. And all this for the cheapest version, since Model 3 must have other battery packages, one of them probably offering Ludicrous Speed!
If you are willing for something even sportier than that, you could buy the Model 3 Coupé, as pictured by X-Tomi Design. A 3-door hatchback has not emerged so far, but it would also rock, for sure. Chevrolet would be preparing more battery options in order for the Bolt to try to compete with the Model 3, but, honestly, it will still lack something no engineering team will ever be able to give any product: charisma. At least the sort of charisma that makes you sell 325,000 cars in only a week…
