A music appeal: everybody use your goddamn turn signal!

Some people consider musicians as relaxed people who tend to worry only about art, leaving the daily hassles, such as disrespectful attitudes in traffic, for the others. By not using turn signals at all, for example. But some musicians cannot help going from this…

… into this when that happens:

And Paul Gilbert, former guitar player from Mr. Big and one of the best in the world, has created a song for these guys. Or, better saying, for the ones who have to deal with it. It is called “Everybody Use Your Goddamn Turn Signal!”. You can check it below.

The song and the video was a tip from Walter Junior, the talented artist that has helped me illustrate the book “The Traffic Cholesterol“. It reminded him of the book and the appeal I have tried to do in order for drivers of all kinds to allow traffic to flow. And one of the major problems about it is precisely the ones that consider the turn signal lever as a sort of hanger for car air fresheners. Or anything similar. Not as what it is intended to do: show other drivers where you are going.

The video shows most of the situations in which the “goddamn turn signal” would have helped. The first one being turning in front of others all of a sudden.

If the guy in the red car was not fast enough, we would have had a crash. And one of the most dangerous, on the side of the car. Another bad example is when someone tries to turn right (or left, depending where you live). You have to slow the car down in order to do so, but the ones coming from behind do not have how to guess that with no indication. If you slow down while the others think you are moving ahead, they may hit your car in the back. So use your goddamn turn signal, mate!

If you don’t know where you should turn, check Waze or any other navigation app. You surely have one on your mobile. If you are distracted driving, you should not even be driving. At all. If you just don’t like to use a turn signal, leave that to professionals and take a cab or a bus. The risk you pose is turning traffic into a real circus.

If you enjoyed this post, you will surely enjoy “The Traffic Cholesterol”. It can be bought at Google’s Play Store, Amazon, iTunes and Hotmart. Have fun with it or try to educate the ones you know that act as cholesterol in traffic, blocking traffic vessels all over the world! And help MotorChase keep on publishing good quality content such as this provided by Walter. Thanks, pal!
