SCOOP! – Auto.cz manages to photograph the new Citroën C3

The third generation of the Citroën C3 will retain the PF1 platform, something that would make most people name it more like a heavy restyling rather than a new generation. But the fact is that the changes will be so deep it would be too much preciosity. And this is the first image of the new car under camo. The pictures were made close to the Trnava plant in Slovakia by Auto.cz.

As the rendering we have published a few days ago, made by L’Argus, the new C3 is lower and wider. When you see its profile, it reminds us very much of the Peugeot 208, the car with which it will share its platform and its plant, moving from Poissy to Trnava.

Although L’Argus did not predict the bump over the rear wheel arches, it seems that the French magazine has hit the nail in the head when it comes to the tail lights and the back of the new C3. It will apparently be revealed in July, but the official presentation to the public will be at the Paris Motor Show. It will have a regular version and a higher ground clearance version, something the XTR of the first generation C3 did not manage to offer.

Its engines will remain the same, being basically variations of the 1.2 PureTech 3-cylinder. The naturally aspirated versions will have a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automated (called ETG5). The turbocharged version will have the same manual transmission, but the option of a 6-speed automatic (the EAT6 transmission). The  1.6 THP will be exclusive for the DS 3.
