LEAKED! – This is the second generation Porsche Panamera. In its Turbo version

After videos and controversial image leaks, the second generation of Porsche Panamera is finally revealed. Not officially, what will only happen in June 28, in a live transmission, but with official images. Leaked and first published by Motor1.com. Check them out.

The version of the car that has leaked is the most powerful one, the Turbo. Which now has become more of a rhetorical and traditional name, since all Porsche models tend to become turbocharged.

As predicted, it will be powered by a new 4.0 twin-turbo V8, able to produce 447 kW. The new Panamera is said to be able to lap the Nürburgring Nordschleife faster than the Porsche Carrera GT. That probably applies to the Turbo.

It is a pity no picture of the car profile has leaked. The new Panamera is said to be much more elegant than the first generation. This is something the C columns almost shouts to us, but we prefer to be more precautious and wait for a proper side view of the new 4-door coupé.

What we know so far

The new Panamera will be built over the MSB platform (Modularer Standardantriebsbaukasten), for rear-wheel drive cars, and has been developed under the code PO623. Its production will start in Leipzig in June. The future Porsche 928 will be built over the same platform. The new platform will make it around 90 kg lighter than its predecessor, and hence a more fuel-efficient vehicle. The MSB is also less expensive to produce than the one used by the current Panamera.

Besides the 4.0 V8, the Panamera will also use diesel engines, a 284 kW V6 and a 315 kW V8, and two other petrol options. The first is a 2.9 V6, good for 313 kW. The second is a 3.6 twin-turbo V6, able to deliver 373 kW. The 4WD version of the new Panamera will be able to use the turbodiesel engines (the current one is not). There is the chance of a hybrid version, equipped either with a petrol V6 engine, with a combined output of 324 kW, or a V6 diesel, which would offer 273 kW mated to the electric engine.
