BMW says goodbye to the F10 5 Series with the M5 Pure Silver Metal limited edition

When an automaker wants to bid farewell to one of its models, it generally creates a limited edition of it. And this is what BMW has just done with the F10 5 Series. More specifically with its flagship version, the M5. The super saloon will have a 50 unit limited edition called Pure Silver Metal. It will be sold exclusively in the USA at the price of US$ 130,900. Destination and handling will demand another US$ 995 and deliveries will begin in August 2016.

The M5 Pure Silver Metal is stronger than that, with 447 kW at 6,250 and 700 Nm from 1,500 rpm up to 6,000 rpm. It is also lighter, at 1,870 kg.

With such an increase in power, the M5 Pure Silver Metal is able to accelerate from 0 to 96 km/h in 3.9 s. It comes exclusively with the M dual clutch transmission, as well as with lots of options for the regular M5 as standard, such as the M Driver’s Package. It offer one day of high-performance driving class and increases the top speed of this special M5 to 306 km/h, instead of the 250 km/h that BMW limits the other sports sedans to.

The M5 Pure Silver Metal also gets adaptive full LED lights, BMW Head-Up Display, BMW Driving Assistant, Comfort Access Keyless Entry, Advanced Real-Time Traffic Information and Navigation System. But the most striking feature it will get is the special Pure Silver Metal paint, according to BMW. It is a brilliant way to say goodbye. Literally speaking.
