Alfa Romeo reveals the Giulia Veloce before the Paris Motor Show

The Giulia is no longer the main surprise Alfa Romeo can present. That role is reserved for the Stelvio, the brand’s first crossover, to be revealed at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. Anyway, the Giulia can still make some hearts beat faster. Especially as the Giulia Veloce grade, the main star in Alfa’s stand at the Paris Motor Show.

The new Giulia will have 2 new engine output options: the 2.0 turbocharged petrol unit with 206 kW at 5,250 rpm and 400 Nm at 2,250 rpm and the 2.2 MultiJet turbodiesel with 155 kW at 3,500 rpm and 470 Nm at 1,750 rpm. The Giulia Veloce will also offer the Q4 all-wheel drive technology that increases 60 kg to the total weight of the sedan, something Alfa Romeo considers as very little. In normal situations, 100% of the engine torque is delivered to the rear wheels. When things start to get slippery, up to 60% of that torque can go to the front wheels. Quite a change in a brand that not long ago had only front-wheel drive cars to offer. The Giulia Veloce will have a price tag of € 50,500.
