LEAKED! – Mag-X reveals the 10th generation Honda Civic Type R

The Japanese magazine Mag-X has revealed today a leaked image of the Type R version of the 10th generation Honda Civic. And the hatchback has not even been duly introduced so far, unless you consider the official images that went out in August as an introduction.

The leaked image came with very little information. The car will only be presented in Japan in August 2017, or almost a year from now. It is expected to cost less than ¥ 5,000,000. And this is pretty much we know apart from the image above. We liked the air outlets over the front wheel arches, to prevent turbulence, and the double rear spoiler, but we are intrigued by the triple exhaust pipes…

The new Type R is supposed to use a 2.0 turbocharged gasoline 4-cylinder engine able to produce 228 kW. Produced over the hatchback version of the car, it will offer a 3.48 m³ interior and the biggest rear seat legroom among C-segment hatchbacks, at 91 cm, if the sport seats do not shrink it. But we are sure none of this is of any interest for anyone that is able to seat behind the steering wheel of this little wonder. We can’t wait for August 2017…
