What would an 8-Series Gran Touring be like? Like this!

BMW has recently presented the 8-Series Gran Coupé, but this luxury beast deserves other body styles. Such as a station wagon. What would the 5.08 m long car look like if it had this option? We did not have to wonder for very long. One of our talented old friends, who has already helped us show the future GEM-platform unibody pickup from GM, as well as the same sort of vehicle Ford will have over the C2 modular platform, created these images and sent them to us. As usual, we would not have them only to ourselves.

BMW 8-Series Gran Touring

The 8-Series Gran Coupé is 1.93 m wide, 1.41 m tall and has a 3.02 m wheelbase. Its engine options are the now traditional 3-litre inline twin-turbo 6-cylinder that delivers 250 kW and 500 Nm for the 840i versions, a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 good for 390 kW and 750 Nm as the M850i and a 3-litre inline 6-cylinder turbodiesel that generates 235 kW and 680 Nm for the 840d derivatives. Stations may not be at its best moment in automotive history nowadays, but wouldn’t it be nice to have this beauty as an option at the closest BMW dealership? With a fully-loaded pocket to be able to buy it?
